Samhain, Hallowe'en, falls upon the evening of October 31st.

It is closely associated with Thanksgiving holidays, marks the last harvests, and is associated with paying respects to the ancestors – those who have passed, as it is believed that this time of year is when the veil between the world of the living and the afterlife are thinnest.
